Exercise Video's For Dogs

Yes there is hope for dogs with weight problems and eating disorders. Entering an new realm in the world of exercise videos, Mariko Takahashi's workout should leave your pooch in perfect shape. This deliciously surreal clip is actually a short film to promote Panasonic during the 2004 Olympics, and was one of ten short movies in the Capture The Motion series . Made by Japanese designer, commercials and short film director Nagi Noda this film will freak you out. This is one of my favorite shorts, I can't imagine how Nagi came up with the concept, that comes across in such a positive way, yet on another level does seem to allude to more serious issues about our obsession with exercise and it would also not really surprise me to hear that there really were dog exercise video's on the market either!

Single Shot - Short Film Site

A very simple and beautiful interface to a site that presents a wonderful short film project. Each film is created with only one single take. The films are availble to download for mobile and iPod video.

I am still watching all the films - my favorite so far is the glass pistol.

Check out the site here.

Teaching The Machine - Cool Video About Web 2.0

A very cool video that uses typed text written on screen in various scenarios to explain some of the simple principles of Web 2.0. One of the things that interest me most about the end message is that not only is it each of us as individuals that will contribute to the way information is arranged and ordered, but also that each action we make, be it clicking on a link, tagging and article, copying and pasting etc, each of these actions will be fed into a computerised system that will learn based on our actions. The relationship between human action and computerised automated actions is a facinating area of developement. As computers get more and more powerful, their levels of intelligence will superceed our own. Thanks to Gaz for the link.

Fuel For Travel

Fuel for travel is a new service available at Amsterdam's Schipol airport that allows travellers to download video and music content onto their MP3 players, mobile phones and portable video devices. Top selling albums, TV series, audio books and travel guides can be bought and downloaded from the special kiosks. They are already partnering with RedBull, MTV and Nickolodeon who are providing digital content. I assume that this branded content is provided free?

The content is only available for selected devices and currently this does not include Apple's iPod.

Current TV - Television made by the viewer

Current is a new cable and satellite TV channel that is about 'what is going on'. Real world stories that for the most part are created by the viewers themselves. Current call it VC2 - view created content.

Content creators upload their videos to the Current website, where viewers vote for and choose who should be shown on air. The programmes are made up of PODs, just a few minutes long.

Current is host to some interesting partner programmes with Flavorpill, Sony and Toyota where users can also create adverts for the channel.

Google appear to be making their own TV show for the channel, that airs every 30 mins. Each episode decribes interesting facts about what people are searching for around a vast variety of subjects.

Where Current stands out is in providing a TV experience, but engaging with the viewers in as true a sense is possible. Creating an interactive experience that should provide better quality viewing than browsing YouTube, but being just as compelling.

Check out Current TV.
